              What RowCollege Is Really About

Are you searching for a college, and possibly one with rowing program? There is a good chance that RowCollege can help.

This blog is about helping prospective students, who want to row in college, find the college-rowing program that best fits their needs. On the flipside, it is not about selling people on rowing at one specific school, nor is it about trying to convince incoming students that they must row.

Simply put, the posts and information here are about helping you navigate through what many students and families find to be a very stressful process—the college search.

I am the Director of Rowing, and Women’s Rowing Coach, at Washington College. I have been coaching collegiate rowing for 26 years, at several different colleges. From those experiences I’ve learned that:

  • The college search process does not have to be stressful
  • Often prospective students and families find the process confusing
  • Simple tips can greatly help reduce stress and increase the chances of selecting the right college/program

As noted before, this blog is NOT about directling students to my own college. It is a great school, however, every college with a rowing program is unique. And it is important to you, your families and supporters, to the colleges, and to the sport, that you find the school and program that best meets your own unique needs.

If you would like to read an extended version about me, I’ve written it at About Coach Davenport.

Best wishes for a successful search.
